Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Adopts Dog She Helped Rescue on the Freeway
On May 17, 2019, KSNV-TV News 3 reported on how Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Britta Foesch adopted the dog she helped rescue on a busy freeway few weeks before. On April 17, the tiny dog was found running on Interstate 15 near Washington in rush hour traffic. She captured hearts across the Las Vegas valley after her rescue went viral. Trooper Foesch and Trooper Chris French risked their own lives to save the dog, with the help of compassionate commuters who stopped to help. The dog was taken to The Animal Foundation after its rescue.
Reporter Kelsey Thomas talked with Trooper Foesch and Kelly Leahy, Communications Manager for The Animal Foundation. According to Leahy, the calls came flooding into The Animal Foundation after the dog’s story was shared thousands of times on social media. “We had lots of people show up saying the dog was theirs. The response was incredible,” said Leahy.
