The Animal Foundation Joins Shelters and Rescue Groups Across Nevada for Maddies' Pet Adoption Days

All dogs and cats are available for free adoption
on April 27 and 28

Las Vegas – The Animal Foundation will offer free adoptions for all dogs and cats at both the shelter and the PetSmart Everyday Adoption Center in Henderson as part of Maddie’s® Pet Adoption Days on April 27 and 28. The event is part of a new initiative called Maddie’s® Pet Project in Nevada that aims to create a safety net for cats and dogs by increasing adoptions from shelters and improving access to veterinary care in underserved areas. Gov. Brian Sandoval will kick off Maddie’s® Pet Adoption Days in Nevada with a ceremony today at the Nevada Humane Society in Reno.

The free adoptions at The Animal Foundation will include spay/neuter surgery, microchipping and up-to-date vaccines.  A city/government fee of $10 will apply for residents of the City of Las Vegas and the City of North Las Vegas. Prospective pet parents are encouraged to stop by The Animal Foundation’s campus adoption facilities at 655 North Mojave or to visit the PetSmart Everyday Adoption Center at 286 West Lake Mead Parkway in Henderson beginning tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Maddie’s® Pet Adoption Days promotion is just one of the many life-saving and life-changing efforts implemented as part of Mission: Possible 2020, The Animal Foundation’s commitment to save all healthy and treatable animals in their care by the end of 2020. This newest promotion also serves to shine a light on the need for a forever home for Mona (#A0942245), a female six-year-old purebred American Staffordshire Terrier who is currently the longest-serving resident at the shelter – 425 days and counting!

Maddie’s® Pet Project is made possible by the generosity of the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation. April 26 is the birthday of Maddie, a Miniature Schnauzer who brought joy to the Duffields and inspired them to help other pets have a good life. #ThanksToMaddie
