The Animal Foundation Opens New Adoption Center
On February 11, 2019, KLAS-TV Channel 8 (CBS) reported on how The Animal Foundation has opened a new 28,000-square-foot adoption center which will increase the shelter’s capacity to save lives.
The new facility will primarily be used to house cats and other small animals like rabbits, as well as birds and reptiles, which were all previously kept in portable trailers. A variety of communal areas are a new feature at the adoption center, making it more comfortable for people and felines to get to know each other. Carly Scholten, Chief Operating Officer for The Animal Foundation, explained that the new facility offers improved housing for animals as well as a wonderful atmosphere for adopters to come and meet and greet potential pets. The adoption center also has administrative offices and a community center for training, orientation and other events.
