The Animal Foundation Makes Working Cats Available for Free to Take Care of Pests
On March 30, 2018, KTNV-TV Channel 13 (ABC) reported on how The Animal Foundation is helping to find homes for cats who are not well-socialized or who may have been feral at one point. Through the new Working Cats program, businesses and homeowners alike can adopt a cat for free and place it in their office or backyard to help solve a pest problem.
In the segment, working cat adopter Starlynne Paxman explains how she didn’t want to put out rat poison that her four-year-old son or dogs could get into and so that’s why she decided on having working cats. Working cats aren’t traditional indoor cats and so can adjust easily to living outside. All that working cat caregivers have to do is make sure the cat has shelter, food, water and medical care when necessary.
