THE ANIMAL FOUNDATION HIRES NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

LAS VEGAS – The Board of Directors of The Animal Foundation is proud to announce that Hilarie Grey has been hired as the organization’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Most recently having served as Managing Director of Corporate Communications for Allegiant, Hilarie brings a wide-ranging background and more than 20 years’ experience in public affairs, marketing, and government relations for high-profile organizations in Southern Nevada. A lifelong animal advocate, in 2019 she joined the volunteer Board of Directors for the Nevada SPCA, where as a director and later as the board’s president, she worked to rebuild the organization in the face of numerous challenges, including relocating the shelter to a newly constructed, healthy, and safe location in 2021.

Since starting her career in Nevada with the City of Las Vegas and Clark County, Hilarie has been involved with community issues ranging from education, health care and growth, to transportation and economic development. She led public affairs at Harry Reid (then known as McCarran) International Airport and UNLV during transformational periods and oversaw communications during institutional transitions for Touro University Nevada, Nevada Cancer Institute and AARP Nevada.

At Allegiant, in addition to leading all strategic communications for the Las Vegas-based national airline and travel company, Hilarie also shaped the company’s corporate giving strategy, including developing national partnerships with Make-A-Wish and the American Red Cross, as well as aviation education programs and regional service dog organizations, among others.

“Building on the organization’s strength - and especially the attainment of the Mission Possible 2020 goal of zero euthanasia for all healthy and treatable animals - The Animal Foundation can ensure the highest standards of care and bring forward new strategies to expand and enrich our lifesaving services and programs,” said Kevin Murakami, Chairperson of the Board of Directors. “Hilarie’s dedicated service to the Las Vegas community, her leadership experience and her collaborative approach make her uniquely qualified to bring that vision forward.”

“I’m excited to join The Animal Foundation and honored to lead the team building an ever-stronger resource for animal welfare and education in our community,” said Grey. “I look forward to working closely with The Animal Foundation’s dedicated team members, community and government partners, and volunteers to continue to raise the bar as an innovative, welcoming organization – and in the process helping Southern Nevada become a more humane, connected community.”

Grey is the first new CEO of The Animal Foundation since 2007 and will begin at the organization on January 24th.
