THE ANIMAL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES SUCCESS OF MISSION: POSSIBLE 2020
Foundation Now Saving All Healthy and Treatable Animals in Their Care
The Animal Foundation proudly announces they have achieved the goal of their Mission: Possible 2020 strategic initiative and are saving every healthy and treatable animal that comes into their care.
As one of the largest volume single‐site animal shelters in the United States, The Animal Foundation takes in an average of over 25,000 animals each year. “The goal of Mission: Possible 2020 was an ambitious one for an open admission shelter,” said CEO, Christine Robinson. “Since the implementation of Mission: Possible 2020, though, we have decreased the euthanasia rate at the Foundation by an astounding 78%, and are now delivering on our mission of saving the lives of every healthy and treatable animal that comes into our care. We’re thankful for the unwavering commitment of our team and board members, the passion of our volunteers and donors and the support of the entire community for making this accomplishment possible.” In keeping with that mission, The Animal Foundation will now look to expand the services and resources it provides to best support the people and pets directly in the community.
The Animal Foundation implemented Mission: Possible 2020 in June, 2015. Driven by the vision of Foundation CEO Christine Robinson, the goal of Mission: Possible 2020 was to save the lives of all healthy and treatable animals who come into their care by the end of 2020. Since implementation, The Animal Foundation has been dedicated to driving transformative change by introducing lifechanging and lifesaving programs, including surrender intervention and managed intake programs; the creation of a dedicated fund to provide enhanced medical care; community‐wide programs to keep cats from entering the shelter; and the expansion and acceleration of existing lifesaving programs like foster care, adoptions, and low‐cost vaccine and spay/neuter services.
