Tommy's Surgery was a Huge Success!
1/18/2024
Thanks to you, Tommy’s surgery was a success, and he’s now healing in a comfy home with a wonderful foster family.
Tommy was in need of emergency surgery after he was found with wounds down his back and a horrific injury to his back right paw. Our team amputated Tommy’s leg and he will need additional follow-up care until he’s completely healed.
We couldn’t do it without your generous donations and support. From all of us at The Animal Foundation, thank you.
The Animal Foundation established our CARE Fund specifically to support animals like Tommy, requiring special medical care in extreme circumstances.

Tommy came to us in excruciating pain. He has a horrific injury to his back right paw and wounds down his back which need immediate medical care.
5-year-old Tommy was found wandering alone in a Las Vegas neighborhood. With no collar, tags, or microchip, Tommy made his way to The Animal Foundation.
Our veterinary team found evidence of a severe infection and that something, possibly a rope or rubber band, had been tightly wrapped around Tommy’s back right paw, cutting off the blood supply. The injury is so severe his leg must be amputated.
Despite everything that he has been through, Tommy is an incredibly sweet dog who craves love and attention from his new human friends at the shelter.
Our veterinary team is keeping him as comfortable as possible with care, medication and support. His wounds will need continued care and he needs to learn to live with three legs before he can regain his ability to run and play like any other dog.
Can you donate today to help cover the costs of Tommy’s care? The need is urgent, and your support is vital. Tommy is counting on us, and we simply can’t do this without you:
