Amazing news! Rupert doesn’t need his leg amputated.

Rupert went to see a specialist this morning and thanks to your generous donations, he’s starting specialized rehabilitation to help it heal. Rupert’s doctor is optimistic this treatment will work, but if it doesn’t, surgery may be necessary down the road.

Rupert’s journey started with a heartbreaking accident, but today, it’s all about new beginnings. Not only will he get the care he needs, he’s also been adopted and renamed Hunter.

He will live his best life with his new dog sister, Nala, and his 5-year-old human sister, Paisley.

His new mom says, “It was love at first sight. He jumped up and kissed me and my daughter. He fits into our family perfectly.”

Your support made this happy ending possible. Any leftover donations will help other animals with urgent medical needs.

The Animal Foundation’s CARE Fund gives sick and injured animals a second chance at life. Your donations help cover emergency procedures, specialty surgeries, and rehab for animals in need.

Last year alone, the CARE Fund supported 242 animals with lifesaving care.

Rupert desperately needs our help. This gentle boy darted into a busy road and was hit by a car. The driver took off, leaving Rupert injured and alone.

Thankfully, another driver quickly called for help and stayed by Rupert’s side until Animal Protection Services officers arrived.

Now, Rupert is at The Animal Foundation.  He arrived scared, in pain, and confused. His right front leg is severely damaged, and our veterinary team determined it can’t be saved. His leg needs to be amputated to give him a second chance at a pain-free life.

This goofy, playful boy loves giving everyone kisses. But you can’t help but notice his leg holds him back—just imagine how much he could do and how far he could run without it slowing him down.

Rupert’s paw crumples under him as he moves around. Our team has managed his pain, stabilized his leg, and cleaned his wounds to prevent infection. But to fully heal, Rupert must undergo surgery to remove his injured leg.

We can’t do this without you. Surgery is expensive and Rupert is counting on us. Will you help us give him the care he deserves?

Even the smallest gift can make a difference. Together, we can make sure Rupert can recover and lead a life filled with love and happiness.
