Foster Search

*FREDDY

Hi, my name is *FREDDY

Freddy, a handsome young lad with a heart full of sweetness, is eagerly awaiting his forever family!

This smart boy has already mastered "sit" and "lay down," proving he's as brainy as he is charming, and this boy loves delicious beef jerky!

Imagine the joy of watching Freddy splash and play in his very own kiddie pool – it's one of his absolute favorite things! He's also a fantastic fetch partner, happily bringing the ball back for another throw. Walks are a breeze with Freddy, as he strolls nicely on the leash and doesn't react towards other dogs passing by.

This affectionate boy soaks up every bit of love you're willing to give, and he even handles brushing like a champ! Freddy came to us with a female companion, suggesting he has the potential to get along with other dogs, provided there are slow, gradual, and safe introductions.

Please don't let his kennel demeanor fool you. This big boy simply longs to be out and about, getting exercise and spending quality time with people. Come down and meet this wonderful boy today – you might just find your perfect match!

And if you need a little more time to decide, be sure to ask about our Foster field trip, Foster, and Foster-to-Adopt programs.

My Special Considerations

This dog is being treated for presumed pneumonia and would benefit from a low stress environment to recover in.

Freddy went to playgroup. On the gate he started to low growl at the other dogs and had a very tense body. Staff members elected to have dog muzzled for safety. When Freddy entered the play yard muzzled, he immediately went after another dog, challenging him. Freddy would not get off of the other dog with any corrections given from staff members. He did this to a male dog. Staff members ended up separating the dogs in different yards. Freddy did come into the shelter with another dog. Therefore, we suspect with slow, proper introductions he may be successful in a home with other dogs but he will require extra supervision and deliberate, intentional introductions to new dogs. He is outside of our current capacity for care due to this observed behavior in playgroup. This animal needs placement by 5/16 at 3 PM.
