Hi, my name is NINJA
Hi, I’m Ninja.
And just like my name suggests… I’m really good at disappearing into the shadows, especially when I’m feeling scared.
I’m a timid pup, and the world can feel like a big, overwhelming place sometimes. When I’m unsure or anxious, I tend to curl up in a quiet corner and try to become invisible. You might not notice me at first—but I promise, I’m there, watching with hopeful eyes.
What I need most is a gentle soul who will give me time—time to feel safe, to trust, and to come out of hiding on my own terms.
Once I do, something magical happens: I start to melt. I’ll come to you, maybe a little slowly, and offer soft kisses and quiet affection. I might nuzzle close or rest my head in your lap, and when I do, you’ll know you’ve earned something really special—my heart.
I’m looking for a calm, patient home filled with love, softness, and understanding. Someone who won’t rush me, but will celebrate the small victories with me as I learn how to be brave.
If you believe in second chances and the beauty of quiet companionship, maybe we’re meant to find each other.
My Special Considerations
Ninja is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of fear and kennel distress. Ninja is a very fearful and unsocialized. He was brought in with 3 other dogs with the same fearful behaviors. He is very shut down and not leash trained. He avoids staff when they enter the kennel. Staff has been able to leash and he thrashes on the leash. Ninja tolerated all handling from staff. He is now working with our behavior team on basic leash manners and obedience. He has went out with a foster family and they had nothing but positive notes on Ninja! Ninja needs time outside of the stressful shelter to fully decompress and start to show his true personality! This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.
Came in with A1377019 Bear, A1377021 Megan, and A1377022 Lil Baby
UPDATE: This animal has shown improvement and is responding to interventions provided. The commitment date has been removed for now however this animal would still benefit from foster, rescue, or adoption.
