My Special Considerations

Nikki is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. Nikki is a very sweet girl and due to the shelter environment she is showing signs of anxiety but also fear. She is nervous in her kennel, growling and alert barking when staff walk past but outside the kennel she is a very sweet girl. She needs time to adjust and decompress outside of the shelter. Nikki is also a playgroup candidate. She greets others well and is curious of the other dogs around her. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation.

This dog was diagnosed with an infectious respiratory disease and needs to be isolated from other dogs through 06/19/25 while being treated.
