Hi, my name is ROYAL
Royal is a diamond in the rough, a sweet but shy boy who needs a patient foster or forever home to help him shine. He needs time and patience to decompress and build trust, as he's a bit timid around new people. Royal needs socialization to learn how to enjoy affection and playtime. He's waiting for someone to see his potential and help him blossom. Come meet this deserving boy and help him become the king he's meant to be!
My Special Considerations
Royal is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. He is panting and constantly barking in his kennel, he is also scratching at the door but it is easy to break his focus. He does allow all handling when out of the kennel, he is also a current playgroup candidate. He loves treats and toys. He is smart and eager to learn. He is now showing self injurious behaviors from pacing, jumping, and running back a forth. He has injured his paw, causing himself to bleed. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation. This animal needs placement by 5/6 at 3 PM.
04/30/25 Medical Update: This guy has some abnormal things going on with his eyes (entropion & strabismus) and could benefit for entropion surgery.
UPDATE: This animal has shown some improvements and is beginning to respond to interventions provided. The commitment date is being extended to assess if further improvements will be made with intervention. The commitment date is being extended from 5/2 to 5/6.
