Meet Treasure – the sassiest gem in the whole shelter!

She’s a seasoned adventurer (aka: “older gal with main character energy”) who comes fully equipped with a big personality, a bigger heart, and enough zest to power a small city. Treasure knows “sit” and “come,” but she also knows the look—the one that convinces you to cancel your plans and take her on a spontaneous road trip.

She’s a runner, she’s a zoomer, she’s a leash-walking pro.

Need a hiking buddy? Walking partner? Someone to help you outrun your problems? Boom. Treasure.

She’s a certified potty dog (yes, that’s a thing at the shelter. It means she waits to go outside to do her business), spayed, and ready to move in with you today. All she needs is a human who understands that greatness takes a little patience, a lot of love, and maybe a shared appreciation for sunset walks.

Not ready for full-time commitment? Take her for a Foster Field Trip. Foster her for a bit. Basically, hang out with Treasure and watch your life instantly improve.

Treasure is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. Treasure is very anxious here in the shelter. She is heavily panting and trying to barge out of her kennel just trying to get out. She has very poor manners on the leash. She is working with our behavior department with her basic commands and learning how to walk on the leash. She isn't treat motivated so it is challenging to get her to focus on her handler. She allows all handling but doesn't seek it due to constantly pacing the yard and wanting out. She is a very sweet girl, just needs a place that is not here in this stressful environment to fully decompress and start to show her true personality. This dog is a “potty dog” at the shelter which means they wait to go outside to do their business and is likely housebroken. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation. This animal needs placement by 08/19 at 3 PM.

UPDATE: This animal has shown some improvements and is beginning to respond to interventions provided. The commitment date is being extended to assess if further improvements will be made with intervention. The commitment date is being extended from 8/16 to 8/19 by 3pm
