This pet has some deep ulcerations on his nose that appear most consistent with Discoid Lupus Erythematous (DLE). DLE is confined to the skin (typically just the nose!) and requires a biopsy for diagnosis. Treatment usually includes avoiding strong sun exposure and may require topical and/or oral medications as well. Follow up with a full-service veterinarian for biopsy and treatment are indicated. This boy is hoping for a transfer commitment by 4/27.
