Hi, my name is MAKA
Maka means “intimate friend” in Hawaiian, and that’s exactly what this sweet senior girl is looking for—someone to share quiet moments, gentle walks, and unconditional love.
At 10 years old and weighing 52 lbs, Maka has the heart of a true companion. She’s spayed and ready to go home today. Maka is listed as a potty dog at the shelter, walks wonderfully on the leash, and knows how to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. She’s a bit selective when it comes to treats—this classy girl knows what she likes!
She’s patiently waiting for someone special to give her the comfort and love she deserves in her golden years.
If you’ve been searching for a true friend—one who will stay by your side and fill your heart—come meet Maka and see if you’re the perfect match.
Not quite ready to decide? No problem—ask about our Foster Field Trip, Foster, or Foster-to-Adopt programs and give Maka a chance to show you just how special she is.
Malta was awesome during a recent foster field trip:
Malta went on a lunch date and enjoyed relaxing on the patio while nibbling on a hotdog! She was great in the car and showed she’s housebroken. Calm, laid-back, and an absolute darling, Malta was relaxed and well-mannered when meeting others.
My Special Considerations
Maka is a geriatric dog with dental disease, skin masses, and a stiff hindlimb gait with frequent scuffing of the hindlimbs. She needs transfer to a paw partner for further diagnostic workup and care.
