Hi, my name is NOVA
Nova is a gorgeous pup who recently came to the shelter as an owner surrender, and it’s clear she’s still trying to understand why her familiar world has suddenly changed. In her kennel, she can be reserved and show signs of fear, sometimes retreating to the back when approached.
With a little patience and coaxing, Nova will step out and start to show you her true self! Outside her kennel is when she’s all smiles. She loves a squeaky ball, is great at catching it mid-air, and will proudly sit to earn another toss. Outside her kennel, her confidence grows, and she leans in for pets, behind-the-ear scratches, and affection. She’s also a breeze to walk on leash, making her a joy to spend time with.
Nova isn’t adapting well to the busy shelter environment, and she would thrive in a calmer home where she can decompress, build trust, and settle into a new chapter. In the right environment, this sweet, likeable girl will reward you with loyalty, love, and plenty of squeaky ball fetches.
My Special Considerations
Nova is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of fear and kennel distress. This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.
Additionally, this dog is showing signs of infectious respiratory disease and will need to be isolated from other dogs until 8/24.
