Hi, my name is MILA
Meet Mila!
This energetic 2-year-old girl is ready to find her forever home! Mila is the perfect mix of playful and protective — she loves to chase squeaky toys and splash around in a kiddie pool, but she’ll also let you know if someone is passing by with her alert personality.
She weighs about 38 lbs and came to the shelter as an owner surrender on July 25, 2025.
Mila already knows the “sit” command and is super treat-motivated, which makes training a breeze. She’d thrive in a home that can give her time to decompress, consistent exercise, and continued positive reinforcement.
Whether you’re looking for a running buddy or a spirited companion to keep you on your toes, Mila might just be your perfect match. Come meet her today — and if you need a little more time to decide, ask about our Foster, Foster-to-Adopt, or Foster Field Trip programs!
My Special Considerations
Mila is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. She is unsure about people approaching her kennel, but once out of the kennel she walks well on leash and seeks attention. When she first arrived to the shelter, she was terrified and was avoiding, cowering, and growling with ears back, lip licking, and tense body language. She has warmed up to staff and has shown massive improvement. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation.
Being treated for a respiratory infection. Will need medication and isolation from other dogs through at least 8/21
