Adoption Search
Hi, my name is TOSHI
Some shelter cats need a little extra time to warm up.
When Toshi was dumped at the shelter in a carrier next our lobby, he made his feelings very clear.
“Don’t look at me. Don’t touch me. Don’t even think about loving me.”
He hissed. He lunged. He swatted. He refused all pets, treats, and toys.
But after 10 days of us gently (and bravely) showing up… something changed.
Suddenly, Toshi was rubbing our legs. Asking for attention. Demanding belly rubs.
Now? He wants constant attention.
Toshi is ready for a home that gives him a safe and cozy space to decompress—and lots of scratches once he’s ready.
Adopt or foster this reformed spicy boy. His adoption fee is waived.
My Special Considerations
Toshi is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of extreme fear. Toshi growling and hissing when approaching kennel will come over for treats but doesn't allow petting. This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.
UPDATE: This animal has shown improvement and is responding to interventions provided. Toshi has made a tremendous switch. He is now approaching staff and seeking attention. Although, he does still hiss from time to time, he has a lot of affection to share. The commitment date has been removed for now however this animal would still benefit from foster, rescue, or adoption.
