Hi, my name is *CARNATION
The Animal Foundation Team is getting to know me.
My Special Considerations
*Carnation is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of extreme fear. She was adopted but returned after 1 day due to being fearful of the men in the home. She is Barking, jumping, and whining in her kennel. She shows barrier reactivity to some team members and will bark, growl, and move away. With other team members, she is jumping on the kennel door and seeking attention. She does appear to be more nervous of men than women. When meeting male team members, she avoids at first then approaches and allows handling. With female team members, she is giving kisses, jumping up for attention, and enjoys petting. The adopter also stated she lunged towards a small dog so they did not introduce the dogs, although she did originally arrive to the shelter with a large male dog. She is not thriving in the shelter environment. She LOVES treats! This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.
