Adoption Search
Hi, my name is CHISPITA
Chrispita is a sweet and shy girl eagerly waiting to find her perfect match!
This beautiful pup might need a little time to warm up, but once she does, her loving personality shines through!
She's already a fantastic walker on the leash, and a recent foster field trip revealed even more of her wonderful qualities: she rides well in the car and quickly starts to come out of her shell once she feels comfortable.
Chrispita was surrendered to the shelter, and her previous family shared some great insights: she has lived happily with kids and a large dog, and while she's been to dog parks, she usually ignored the other dogs. The commands she understands are currently in Spanish.
The shelter environment makes her a little nervous. She's stressed and fearful in her kennel, so she's truly in search of a home that will give her the time and patience to decompress and learn to trust.
If you're looking for a gentle, adaptable dog who will thrive with a little understanding and love, come and meet Chrispita and see if you are a match! If you'd like more time to get to know this precious girl, ask our staff about our foster field trip, foster, and foster-to-adopt programs.
My Special Considerations
Chispita is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of fear and kennel distress. She is hiding and avoiding in her kennel. She will run away from team members. She warms up with time and treats and enjoys walks. She is a playgroup candidate. This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.
Additionally, Chispita is being treated for infectious respiratory disease (IRD) and will need to be isolated from other dogs until 6/29.
