*SUGAR

Hi, my name is *SUGAR

Meet Sugar! This sweet, young girl is a diamond in the rough, waiting for a loving foster or forever family to help her blossom. Sugar is a bit shy at first, but with patience and gentle guidance, she's sure to shine! She's working on her training and socialization, including learning how to greet people and dogs politely. Sugar already knows the "sit" command and enjoys a good toy chase!

While she needs time to build trust, her love for beef jerky shows she's eager to connect. She's learning to walk nicely on a leash (though she likes to take the lead a bit!). If you have the time and patience to help this sweet girl thrive, come meet Sugar today! Need more time to see if she's a match? Ask about our Foster Field Trip and Foster-to-Adopt programs.

My Special Considerations

*Sugar is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of fear and kennel distress. She is fearful but does allow staff members to handle her. Every day she is becoming more brave! She has also been to our playgroup sessions here at the shelter and she does better with our gentle friends rather then the rougher, pushier friends. *Sugar needs time to decompress from the loud shelter environment and to be in a loving home where she can start to show her true colors. *Sugar warms up with treats and loves pupperoni's! This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.

UPDATE: This animal has shown improvement and is responding to interventions provided. The commitment date has been removed for now however this animal would still benefit from foster, rescue, or adoption.
