This stunningly sweet boy already knows the "sit" command and is treat-motivated, making training a joy!

Mateo absolutely loves to play fetch and would make a wonderful walking buddy – he walks with purpose but is smart and can learn to stroll by your side. He's also a big fan of being petted!

Having arrived at the shelter with another dog and showing no reactivity to passing dogs during walks, Mateo has potential to get along with other dogs, with proper introductions.

However, shelter life is breaking his spirit. He's stressed and anxious in his kennel and he would greatly benefit from a calm foster home while he searches for his forever family where he can decompress and feel secure.

My Special Considerations

Mateo is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation.
