Hi, my name is *NALA
Meet Nala– A Gentle Soul Looking for a Forever Home
!
Nala is a sweet and sensitive girl whose gentle heart has been overwhelmed by the busy, noisy shelter environment. Loud sounds and unfamiliar surroundings can make her nervous at the shelter, so she tends to retreat to the back of her kennel, watching quietly while she tries to make sense of it all.
But don’t be fooled by her shyness—once Nala learns she can trust you, she begins to blossom.
With time, patience, and a calm approach, you’ll see her tail wag, feel her lean in for pets, and witness her loving spirit unfold. Nala would do best in a home without a lot of chaos, and with someone who understands that building trust takes time.
A home with a gentle routine, a soft bed, and a kind human to call her own would be this girl's dream come true.
If you’re someone who believes that the best friendships are the ones worth waiting for, Nala might just be your perfect match. She's available for foster or adoption!
I recently went out on field trip and this is what my foster had to say about me:
"If you’re looking for a gentle, sensitive soul in this sometimes “too rough” world, then Nala (A1367799), may be the girl for you. She’s still scared, confused and cautious about what is happening, so she’ll be timid at first and will take her time to warm up and trust. But with some patience, understanding and a slow pace to start, you’ll find that this low-key, sweet thing has a heart of gold inside to match her beautiful blonde outside. I took Nala on a foster field trip day on 5/18/25. She’s always looking to feel safe, so she laid low on the second row floorboards, where she was calm, quiet and comfy while riding in the car. We first took an ambling walk along the Railroad Trail and Tunnels, during which she showed some curiosity and sniffing about the world and was pretty good on the leash, but was cautious when other people or dogs came nearer. Then we headed to Sunset Park where she started to blossom a bit, grew a little more curiosity and bounce in her step and even started to relax. When we found a quiet, shady spot under a tree in a picturesque place within a safely distant view of other people and pets who were also out enjoying the day, Nala settled in to her piece of heaven and relaxed enough to lay down and just watch and enjoy the beautiful day. Nala just needs some calm and some love and she will match that with a gentle sweetness that might just grow your own soul."
My Special Considerations
Nala is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of fear and kennel distress. This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.
