My Special Considerations

Chanel is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of fear and kennel distress. Chanel is a previous quarantine, along with her sister Canela A1364682. Animal Control was not able to verify which dog bit. With Chanel's severe fear being in the shelter she is starting to become reactive with staff but does allow handling with a slow approach. We feel her welfare may decline in this environment. Chanel needs time outside of the stressful shelter environment to fully decompress and warm up to her new surroundings. She needs someone with patience and time to work through her fears. Chanel is treat motivated which should help with the training process. This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes. Due to the severity of these behaviors, this animal is transfer only. This animal needs placement by 04/02 at 3 PM.
