Kong is a lovable, affectionate boy who’s sure to steal your heart the moment you meet him! Calm and composed in his kennel, Kong lights up with joy once he’s outside, charming everyone within a 50-foot radius with his wagging tail and playful energy.

He walks fairly well on a leash and loves exploring, especially if he gets to carry a toy—or even the leash itself—in his mouth along the way! We use a chain leash for him during walks to make sure everyone stays safe while he gets his silly, happy stroll in.

Kong has done well in doggy playgroups, showing his fun-loving side with other pups. While he can feel a bit stressed in the shelter environment, his gentle nature always shines through. He recently had cherry eye surgery, and though it has reappeared, it doesn’t slow him down one bit—he’s still full of love and ready for his next adventure.

My Special Considerations

This sweet guy has cherry eye that needs surgical revision.

Kong is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation.
