Meet Tonka — a sweet, adventurous boy with a heart as big as his name!

Tonka is the kind of dog who greets each day with a wagging tail and a curious nose, always ready to explore the world around him. Whether it’s sniffing out new scents on a walk or trotting alongside you on a weekend adventure, Tonka is happiest when he’s out and about discovering new things.

He’s incredibly friendly and loves nothing more than soaking up attention and getting plenty of pets. Belly rubs? Yes, please. Head scratches? Even better. Tonka thrives on human affection and will gladly lean in for all the love you’re willing to give.

While we can’t say for certain, Tonka shows signs of being housebroken and has the kind of easygoing nature that would make a great fit in many homes. He’s got a gentle spirit and a loyal heart — now he just needs a forever family to share it with. He's available for foster or adoption!

My Special Considerations

*Tonka is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. He is barking loudly and panting in his kennel. He is also smearing the glass of his kennel heavily. Once out of the kennel, he allows all handling and does seek attention. He is also a playgroup candidate. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation.
