Hi, my name is *BENJIE
Meet Benjie – The Bestest Boy!
Benjie is the bestest boy, and he’s ready to find his forever home! This handsome pup has the sweetest demeanor, especially when it’s just you and him, enjoying some quiet time together. He loves head pats, cuddles, and all the affection you’re willing to give.
A recent arrival at the shelter (March), Benjie was initially more interested in sniffing and exploring than making immediate connections—but don’t let that fool you. Give him a little time, and you’ll discover that he’s one of those special dogs you’ll truly bond with. By the end of our walk, he was completely comfortable, even laying his head on my lap when we took a break in the play yard. If I scooted away, he scooted right back—because he just loves being close.
On walks, Benjie does pretty well on a leash and is generally non-reactive to passing dogs. He enjoys his adventures but is just as happy to relax, especially with his signature sploot when he wants to cool off.
Benjie is affectionate, gentle, and the kind of dog you’ll want to dote on forever. Could he be your perfect companion? We fell in love with him and we're sure you will too!
My Special Considerations
*Benjie is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. *Benjie is very anxious in his kennel, he is heavy panting, restless and attempting to cage fight his neighbor. He is a sweet boy who needs out of the shelter to be able to fully decompress. He allows all handling and walks well on a leash. He has been to playgroup before, he is unsure of other dogs and insecure around other dogs. He is starting to cause self injury and needs out of the shelter where he can be able to relax. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation. This animal needs placement by 4/3 by PM
