*MATTEL

Hi, my name is *MATTEL

At around 6 years old, Mattel may not be a puppy, but he’s not quite ready for senior discounts either! He’s at that perfect in-between age—mature enough to have great manners but still full of life and love to give.

Mattel is a gentle soul who will melt your heart with his sweet, longing gaze. On walks, he’ll check back to make sure you’re still with him, a little habit that proves just how much he values companionship. He sits promptly on command, happily offers his paw, and is always eager to learn—proving that you can teach an old (well, middle aged) dog new tricks!

With his wise eyes and handsome hound features, Mattel is both observant and curious, taking in the world around him one sniff at a time. But as much as he enjoys exploring, his true passion is being with his human friends—especially if treats are involved!

So far, Mattel has been a quiet and well-mannered companion, generally walking well on a leash, and remaining calm when passing by other dogs. He’s easygoing, sweet, and ready to be someone’s loyal best friend. On our walk, he soaked up the sunshine, happily lounging by my feet, enjoying the peaceful moment away from the noise of the shelter. He’s a true companion dog—loyal, calm, and always ready to share a quiet moment with his person.

Mattel recently had the chance to go on a foster field trip together with Sienna (another shelter doggo), thanks to two amazing fosters who took them out for the day. They went on a pack walk—keeping a little space between them—and handled it beautifully, showing just how well-behaved they both are!

Mattel is ready to leave the shelter and move into a loving home. Could yours be the one he’s looking for?

My Special Considerations

Mattel is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation.
