BONET

Hi, my name is BONET

Meet Bonet – A Shy Sweetheart Ready to Bloom

Bonet recently got a break from the shelter for a foster field trip to Red Rock, and it was a day full of little milestones. At first, she was very shy and nervous—unsure of her surroundings, hesitant to be touched, and pulling on the leash. But as the hike went on, something beautiful happened: she started to relax. By the time we were heading back down, she was walking more calmly and beginning to trust. Once she returned to the shelter, her nerves kicked back in—but we saw a glimpse of the wonderful dog she’s becoming!

Bonet had an absolute blast with a calm, respectful dog during her outing—they played so well together! We think she’d do great with dogs who are also soft and respectful – as she does go to play group at the shelter with them and enjoys it very much! These are the ones who help her come out of her shell.

She even showed us she’s got a silly side—turns out she might like water. She accidentally walked too far into the beach-style pool entry, ended up swimming back out, and then... did it again! Total goofball moment. Afterward, she got the zoomies and went wild rolling in the grass, living her best life.

While she’s initially hesitant, she’s also curious and wants to meet everyone who passes by, which suggests she craves connection and reassurance. Her ideal family would be a patient and understanding family who will give her time to decompress, grow in confidence, and learn that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. With love and guidance, she’s going to blossom into an amazing companion!

Bonet is already spayed and can go home with you today!

My Special Considerations

Bonet is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of fear and kennel distress. Bonet when first entering the shelter was panicked and trying to find a way out of her kennel constantly, she was hesitant to approach staff. Since her arrival she has made major improvement, she is becoming more social at the kennel front and will stay to interact with staff and patrons. She also enjoys playgroup with soft, respectful dogs. She can be defensive when other dogs get her in face. She does give great, firm corrections. This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.
