Hi, my name is GIZMO
Here's a note from one of our volunteers:
My oh my… I spotted a new senior today and I just had to take him out! His name is Gizmo and he's a sweet senior doggo, who needs someone to spoil him and shower him with love. I say this because it looks like Gizmo has had a hard life before he came to the shelter. It really does make such a big difference when a dog has a warm home, a soft bed, and regular meals.
Gizmo was super easy to leash up and walk. He walked slowly and took his time smelling every corner of the shelter grounds. I have a feeling he'll be an easy dog to manage and won't require too much from his forever family. What he really needs is some TLC!
Even though Gizmo took his time on our walk, I noticed he'd sometimes have a pep in his step, which was refreshing to see, and his eyes would light up and he would perk up every now and then.
(Always remember -- if you have another dog in the house, you must do slow introductions and slowly integrate your new dog with your resident dog to ensure that everyone gets along safely!!)
My Special Considerations
This older guy has severe dental disease and degenerative joint disease in his right elbow and arthritis in the right forearm. Bloodwork largely unremarkable. Gizmo would benefit from further care outside of the shelter environment.
