My Special Considerations

This sweet older kitty presented severely emaciated. She has heavy dental calculus as well and appears to be approximately 13 years old. We are monitoring her weight gain and for any symptoms of other diseases as she had a great appetite on intake and may be underweight due to lack of resources. She would benefit from geriatric lab work at a full service veterinary hospital and a dental cleaning in the future.

Update- This girl has gained a little weight over the last two days and may continue to gain but will still need some extra work. Bloodwork is pending. She's hoping for a transfer commitment by 10/20 at 3pm.

Update 10/19/24 - Bloodwork revealed pet is hyperthyroid, which typically results in weight loss despite good appetite. She would require treatment for this disease (often daily medication).
