Hi, my name is *HUEY
Meet Huey: the gentle brindle boy! He is a beautiful brindle pup with a heart full of potential and a spirit that just needs a little time to shine. Huey is a timid soul who finds himself overwhelmed by the constant noise of barking dogs and the flurry of activity at the shelter. This sensitive pup would greatly benefit from a quieter environment where he can feel safe and slowly adjust to the changes in his surroundings.
Despite the stress of shelter life, Huey showcases his wonderful leash manners, making walks a calming experience for both him and his handler. Although he hasn't shown much interest in treats or learned any commands yet, it's clear that he needs a patient and understanding companion to help him navigate this new chapter in his life. He is ready for a loving home where he can take his time to blossom, learn, and grow in confidence.
My Special Considerations
Huey is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. Huey is showing improvement since being moved to a suite. He is still very hyper but is learning manners in the shelters ACE program. He is a playgroup candidate and likes a rougher style of play. He is starting to show arousal behaviors like jumping, reactivity, and mouthiness. He is panting, pacing, and drooling despite interventions. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation. This animal needs placement by 11/26 at 3 PM.
