GUCCI

Hi, my name is GUCCI

I'm currently relaxing in foster care, and loving it!!

"We did want to update you on Gucci. She's been beginning to come out of her shell.

Me and my wife have taken to her and she is such a sweetheart, we love fostering her.

She can be very unsure at times. She will be flinch or run into the crate or into a corner if you get up too quick, or make a quick movements sometimes.

She is very very sweet, very nosy, very curious, and all around a goofball. She likes to play, and mainly plays with toys if you throw them around the house. We did try taking her to an empty dog park where it was just me and her and the wife, and Gucci had no interest in playing with a ball. She really had no interest in anything other than sniffing or running after me if I ran away from her. She's very playful with a person more than toys.

She does tend to pull on the leash a little bit but nothing too crazy. While on the least she does not exhibit any behaviors of aggression and is not reactive towards any other animals.

At home she likes to sleep and lay around. She is 1 million percent not a morning dog, and has a little bit of trouble getting up in the morning unless you kind of coach her. She would prefer to continue sleeping.

She does show a little fear when you have a leash in your hand, but she tends to go into her crate or run upstairs and cower in the corner when trying to attach her leash to her collar.

If you try to take a walk with her outside she is extremely timid and will walk with her tail between her legs for the first 5 or 10 minutes. Once you get her out of the house and walking around she gets a little bit better but does seem to want to just go back in the house.

As far as car rides go she has been extremely well behaved and lays down in the car without issue. She's patient when opening the door, though she does try to nudge by somewhat. She does get a little curious and we'll jump up on the window but if you instruct her to get down once or twice she will usually get down with no issues.

In the few days we have had her, we have been working on sit, lay down, and paw. She has learned how to sit and lay down as well as give her paw as she is really treat motivated. If you toss a tree in the air she will jump up and grab a tree and make cute little snorting noises while doing it. It will absolutely make your heart melt.

She does appear to be crate trained. We have left her in the crate and she tends to just sleep. She likes to go in there during the day and use it as for safe space. She doesn't show any signs of severe separation anxiety or trying to break out of the crate.

If you ask her to go into her crate and point to the crate she'll do it without an issue and go in there and sit or lay down.

At night time she tends to want to sleep on the floor rather than a bed, or she likes to sleep on a blanket on the floor. She doesn't seem to like dog beds as much and would prefer to lay up against the wall. Again it seems like she may have had some kind of trauma in the past.

To the goofball part of her, she randomly gets Zoomies, and just loves to play. She does play bite a little bit, and it's something that we're working on but there's no aggression there. She likes to play by doing Zoomies and rolling over back and forth.

Her energy is usually short-lived by about 5 or 10 minutes and then she passes out like a potato on the ground. She absolutely loves her chest and belly rubs. And she will go out of her way to make sure that she gets either her chest or her belly rubs from you at least a few times a day. If you rub her head or her belly she will fall asleep pretty easily.

When we first got her she had some dirty ears that have been since taken care of. She also had what appeared to be a previous dog bite with a wound on her nose. We took her to the vet and they drained a cyst inside her nose. She has been doing well with it and has not needed the cone at all.

She's definitely housebroken. She will not go to the bathroom in the house and will make sure to either wake you up or hang out by the back door and whine if she needs to go. Once outside you do have to kind of hang around with her for a minute or two to ensure she goes. If you walk back in the house she'll follow you. If you have a yard that is completely enclosed and leave the back door open she does like to go outside and lay in the grass.

She is very curious and likes to sniff a lot. She will follow you sometimes from room to room but for the most part she just kind of lays off to the side and does her own thing.

She's been eating and drinking without any issues. She likes to be the first one in the room no matter what room you're going into. Have to move out of the way for the princess :)

We absolutely love having her in our home, and she has been an absolute delight. "
