Hi, my name is BUDDY
Buddy is currently thoroughly enjoying himself in foster care, and his foster mom wanted to tell you all about him!
'Buddy is such a love bug.
He’s a bit hesitant at first, but once he gets comfortable with you, he’ll be your shadow. He loves laying his head on your lap and soak in the love. Buddy is friendly to dogs so if he sees you interacting with other dogs, he’ll trust you sooner. He has separation anxiety but daily physical activity helps to get the anxious energy out. He is play driven and loves to play fetch and squeak his squeaky toys. He’s smart: he’ll bring you a toy and nudge at you to throw it when he wants to play. He will also pick up the ball and walk himself to the car when he’s done fetching. Buddy is anxious in the kennel when no one is around but he’s getting comfortable with it and will go in there on his own terms. He’s potty trained and will let you know if he has to go. He knows basic commands but he understands body language more than verbal commands. He’s great on the leash and looks for guidance. If you’re looking for a well mannered, smart and loyal dog, Buddy is ready to give you all of his love!'

My Special Considerations
Buddy is not adapting well to our shelter environment due to extreme fear. He is hiding in the back corner of his kennel, whale eyed, trembling. He will come forward to be leashed, but on leash he pulls away and avoids team members. He is heavy panting and drooling while team members interact with him. Buddy would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.
