My Special Considerations

This pet was reportedly vomiting/ not able to hold down food prior to arrival at the shelter. He hasn't vomited since he arrived, but he's also not eating. He's overweight and has some dental disease, and his bloodwork and x-rays are fairly normal.

Panda is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of extreme fear. Panda is a very fearful boy, in our bank housing he is hissing at staff when they approach the kennel. He has allowed limited handling, but still tense. Panda recently moved into an office, in the office he comes out of his hidey box to explore the room and likes to lay under the desk at people's feet. He likes baby talk and temptation treats and will come out to get attention and rub against you. He has tolerated being picked up and handled much better in this environment that is more like a home setting. This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.
