CHEECH

Hi, my name is CHEECH

Introducing Cheech, the 61-pound bundle of love with a zest for life that's simply infectious.

With his boundless energy and affectionate nature, Cheech is guaranteed to bring joy to anyone lucky enough to cross his path. When happiness fills his heart, Cheech can't help but express it through his signature move: the zoomies.

With lightning speed and unbridled enthusiasm, he darts around with sheer exuberance, spreading smiles wherever he goes.

Cheech recently went on a foster field trip. Here's what his foster had to say:

"Initially hesitant to get in the car, he followed me into the back seat. Despite some anxiety and panting, he quickly calmed down, behaving perfectly during the ride. The day's heat led us to my home, where Cheech explored the yard but preferred to relax on the bed, resting his head while I freshened up. Cheech exhibits a wonderful mix of independence and affection. At the shelter, he doesn't seek much attention beyond treats. However, at home, he hopped beside me on an ottoman, laying down and draping a leg over mine, content to stay close and unwind. Cheech is known for his playful energy and zoomies, yet he was quite serene during our visit, possibly due to the heat or his mood, preferring to absorb his surroundings. He lounged in the grass, savoring the cool, shady spots. A gentleman when it comes to food, he relished his puppy patties and a few fries from In-N-Out. He walked nicely on the leash, pulling very little and taking breaks to spread out in the shade. Cheech was reluctant to jump in and out of the car on his own but allowed me to lift him in and out with no problems. He's sociable and enjoys meeting new people on his walks. I envision Cheech as a dog who can keep himself entertained while his family is away but that will enjoy play and snuggle time just as much."

My Special Considerations

Cheech is not adapting well to being in a kennel at the shelter and is displaying signs of kennel distress and anxiety. She is panting in her kennel and she is now trying to cage fight with her neighbors. Cheech does love walks and does have the best zoomies. He is jumping in his kennel and is at risk of injuring himself. This animal would benefit from a calmer environment and training to be able to cope with changing environments and separation.
