Helping the Animals Who Need Us Most

Some animals arrive at our shelter with more than just broken hearts—they come with broken bones, severe infections, and wounds that tell a story of neglect or cruelty. These are the pets who need urgent, specialized care to survive. That’s why we created the CARE Fund.

CARE stands for Companion Animal Rehabilitation & Enhancement, and it exists to provide critical medical treatment for the most severely injured and ill animals at The Animal Foundation.

What the CARE Fund Does

While most animals receive care from our in-house veterinary team, some cases require emergency procedures, specialty surgeries, or long-term rehabilitation only possible at external hospitals. These treatments are often costly—and not covered by our standard operating budget.

That’s where the CARE Fund comes in.

When you become a CAREgiver, your donation helps fund:

  • Life-saving surgeries for animals hit by cars
  • Emergency treatment for victims of cruelty or neglect
  • Complex orthopedic procedures
  • Long-term recovery support for animals who would otherwise be out of options

And because of our unique CARE Fund model, every dollar not used for one animal is carried forward to help the next.
