Smoke: Best in Show All Stars

The Dog Who Knew Before I Did
I am a dv survivor with c-ptsd and migraines that blur my vision, I went into the foundation 3 days before Christmas with the hopes to foster a pup for Christmas, 6 dogs all adopted before I was able to foster then there was smoke, goofy, shy little fellow fighting the leash laying down. We got him home I was making empanadas for my family for Christmas dinner, a migraine hit and smoke had been pacing in front of me, I ended up laying on the floor and he pushed himself right under my arm laid there for an entire hour unprovoked, my other dog didn’t bother him walking around trying to play he just laid there comforting me.
Right there I Knew there was so much more to this puppy, he has since learned how to open doors for me. He is learning when to alert to my migraines, and is also learning how to become a supportive friend for other fosters I house. He never leaves my side honestly, he can also as funny as it is lock us out of our house and bedroom. When I got him I had lost my brother my protector to addiction I had shut down completely stopped doing my makeup , even stopped brushing my hair and once smoke came into my life I started becoming less and less closed off. I can’t imagine if I hadn’t picked him up when I did he has become the center of my life.
