Last year, we asked for $25 in exchange for a portrait of your beloved pet, drawn by one of our volunteer “artists.” You gave us your trust. We gave you… whatever that was.
And somehow, you wanted more.
So we’re thrilled (and slightly concerned) to announce the third annual Poorly Drawn Pets fundraiser.
Some of our artists may surprise you with their talent. Others haven’t received an art compliment since their mom hung a macaroni masterpiece on the refrigerator in 2003. Either way, you’re guaranteed to receive a one-of-a-kind portrait and help shelter pets in need.
All proceeds benefit the animals at The Animal Foundation.

Submit Your Pet
After your purchase, you’ll receive an email with a link to upload a photo of your pet and any notes you’d like to share with your artist.
Each purchase includes one pet portrait. Want portraits of multiple pets? Simply complete a separate purchase for each pet.

Once you submit your pet’s photo, it will automatically appear on this page so our artists can find it and begin working on your masterpiece.
Receive Your Portrait
Our artists will spend the next few weeks creating your portrait. All completed portraits will be posted right here by July 29.
All portraits are delivered digitally. No physical portraits will be mailed.

Pet photos should appear on this page shortly after you submit them. If it’s been more than a few hours and you don’t see your pet, please email poorlydrawnpets@animalfoundation.com.

Yes! If you’d like multiple pets included in the same portrait, simply donate in increments of $25 per pet and submit them together.
For example:
3 pets = $75
1 pet = $25
2 pets = $50
Absolutely. If you’d like each pet to receive its own unique masterpiece, please complete a separate purchase for each pet.
No. Artists are assigned at random based on availability, skill level, confidence level, and willingness to draw what they just agreed to draw.
No. Part of the magic of Poorly Drawn Pets is embracing the final result, no matter how unexpected it may be.
No. All portraits must be created by a real human volunteer artist.
Artists may use traditional or digital art tools, but AI-generated artwork is not permitted. If you receive a digital portrait, it was still created by the assigned artist.
Yes! Dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, birds, horses, guinea pigs, and just about any other beloved companion are welcome.
Unfortunately, no. Sometimes our volunteers accidentally reveal genuine artistic talent. We apologize for any inconvenience.
