Kids Have Fun Reading to Dogs at The Animal Foundation
On March 1, 2017 The Las Vegas Review Journal reported on how the Clark County School District teamed up with The Animal Foundation during Nevada Reading Week by bringing about 80 elementary school students to the animal shelter to read to the dogs.
Children who struggle with reading often are self-conscious about reading aloud in front of their classmates. Reading to Dogs builds excitement about reading and provides an environment where children can relax and read in a non-threatening and fun setting. The dogs at The Animal Foundation love the attention and the children have a memorable and positive reading experience; it’s a win-win situation!
