The Animal Foundation Launches Foster Incentive Program to Ease Overcrowding
The Animal Foundation announces the launch of a foster incentive program aimed at alleviating shelter overcrowding and saving lives. In July alone, the shelter saw an average intake of 125 animals daily, most of those were dogs.
The goal is to place 75 dogs into month-long foster homes within a 3-day period to create vital space in the shelter.
Foster families who commit to caring for an eligible dog for four full weeks will receive $200 upon completion of the foster period.
Should a foster dog be adopted during the four-week period, the foster family would still be eligible for payment if they select another dog to foster within the promotion period and foster for a cumulative total of a four-week period.
The program will run from Tuesday, September 3 through Thursday, September 5th, 2024. We're open from 11 am to 7 pm.
During this period, potential fosters can utilize the foster window in the adoption lobby to bring home a dog.
The Animal Foundation will provide necessary supplies, including food.
Dogs eligible for fostering are those over six months old and weighing more than 35 pounds.
