Sweet Potato: Best in Show All Stars

I Yam an All-Star
On February 7 of this year, I went into the animal foundation wanting to adopt with an animal in mind. While I was waiting for my meet and greet, I walked through the kennels and that’s when I saw this dog that they called puppy 2. This little guy could barely get off his bed because he was so obese. He waddled over to the door to come greet me with his little tail wagging. It broke my heart to see how very big he was, which was extremely unhealthy, and he certainly was not living his best life due to that but also now in the shelter again. I found out he was adopted from the animal shelter and then returned.
I met the other dog that I came to meet, but could not get this potato shaped guy out of my mind. And so I asked if I could meet him and it truly was love at first lick!
I immediately knew I wanted to adopt him and get him healthy where he could truly live his very best life. And so we went home together. He sat on my lap and he was so heavy my legs actually hurt and that’s when I told him he was like a sack of potatoes, but he was so sweet. And that’s how Sweet Potato was named.
Since then, he runs with me every morning, he hikes with me and we go on many walks and adventures! He gobbles up vegetables with such happiness! At first,he could not even go up the stairs and now he runs like lightning. His tail is always wagging and he won’t leave my side. Sweet Potato has slimmed down to a healthy weight and now can live his best life.
Thank you for my best friend.
