Hill’s Sweet 16 Million Adoptions Celebration

The Animal Foundation is teaming up with Hill’s Pet Nutrition for a special, week-long adoption campaign celebrating an incredible milestone: 16 million pet adoptions supported by the Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love® program since 2002. This national celebration is happening at shelters across the U.S. and Canada—and right here in Las Vegas.

Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love provides science-led nutrition to more than 1,000 animal shelters every day, including the dogs and cats in our care. As a proud program partner, we’re excited to join this “Sweet 16” celebration and help even more pets find loving homes for the holidays.

What’s Happening

From December 8–14, Hill’s will contribute up to $200,000 to offset adoption fees at select shelters nationwide. Thanks to their support, The Animal Foundation will be offering fee-waived adoptions during this time!

Whether you’re looking for a playful puppy, a mellow senior, an energetic adventure buddy, or a couch-loving cat, we have hundreds of incredible animals hoping to spend their holidays in a home. Our team will be on site to help match you with the perfect companion and walk you through the adoption process.

How the Adoption Process Works

🐾 Visit our adoption search page before coming to the shelter to browse adoptable pets.
🐾 Use the QR code on our adoption lobby door to join the virtual waitlist. The waitlist opens at 8:00 am.
🐾 Please make sure to return by 11 am when the doors open.
🐾 Depending on the volume of patrons each day, adoption services may close before 7 PM once our capacity is reached. We recommend arriving early.
🐾 When you arrive, you may browse the adoption area for a pet, or if you have an animal in mind, please note the animal ID#, and you’ll be able to speak with an adoption counselor.
🐾 We do not place holds on pets.
🐾 Please do not bring your current pets for introductions—the shelter environment doesn’t provide an accurate picture of how pets will interact at home.
🐾 The fee-waived adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, up-to-date vaccines, and a microchip.
