Clear the Shelters

This August, The Animal Foundation is proud to participate in Clear the Shelters, NBCUniversal Local’s nationwide pet adoption campaign presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition. For more than a decade, this annual initiative has helped connect more than 1.3 million pets with loving families across the country.

Adult Pets Fee-Waived All Month

To celebrate Clear the Shelters, adoption fees for all adult dogs and cats (6 months and older) will be waived throughout the month of August. If you’ve been thinking about adding a new best friend to your family, there’s never been a better time to adopt.

Join Us for Our Crescendo Celebration

The month wraps up with our biggest adoption event of the campaign!

Our Crescendo celebration will feature local vendors, family-friendly activities, community partners, and hundreds of adoptable pets looking for homes.

For this one-day event, adoption fees will be waived for all animals (including puppies and kittens).

Whether you’re looking for a playful puppy, a cuddly kitten, or a loyal adult companion, we hope you’ll stop by, meet your match, and help us Clear the Shelters.

About the Adoption Process:

Visit our adoptions search before coming to the shelter to browse adoptable pets.

Use the QR code on our adoption lobby door to join the virtual waitlist. The waitlist opens at 8:00 am.

Please make sure to return by 11 am when the doors open.

When you arrive, you may browse the adoption area for a pet, or if you have an animal in mind, please note the animal ID# and you’ll be able to speak with an adoption counselor. We do not place holds on pets.

Please do not bring your current pets for introductions — the shelter environment doesn’t provide an accurate picture of how pets will interact at home.
