Meet Leche, a gentle, sweet 2-year-old girl who arrived as an owner surrender and is searching for a soft, quiet place to land! She is experiencing extreme fear and kennel distress in the shelter environment and desperately needs a peaceful foster or forever home where she can safely decompress and regain her confidence.
Leche comes with a fantastic family and home history! According to her previous family, she lived successfully with kids of all ages and another big dog. She is friendly, potty-trained, and was trusted to be left free in the house when her owners were away.
She is an official house-trained potty dog at the shelter as well, immediately taking care of business as soon as she steps out into the yard. Leche is a smart, obedient girl who sits politely when prompted and responds wonderfully when engaged with positive encouragement.
Once outside in the yard, her true personality shines through! Squeaky toys get her attention, and tennis balls bring out her fun side—Leche is a total fetch master who sits nicely for a throw, fetches like a pro, and brings the ball right back to drop at your feet.
Though shy and nervous initially, Leche warms up with patience, happily opening up from timid to playful once she feels safe. She has so much potential to blossom into an amazing companion given the right environment, time, and love.
