Meet Fia, a stunning, 2-year-old spayed female German Shepherd mix who is looking for a loving, understanding home where she can truly decompress and flourish! Fia was previously adopted and spent three weeks in a home, but she was returned through no fault of her own due to her adopters experiencing health changes. Because she missed out on early socialization, the shelter environment is a bit overwhelming for her and she is experiencing kennel distress, so she would benefit tremendously from a quiet foster or adoptive home to relax and build confidence.
Fia is a gentle and affectionate girl who, while cautious and nervous in new environments, warms up quickly! She happily takes treats from your hand and loves gentle back pets and head scratches. Though she can be easily startled by loud or unexpected noises, her curiosity shines through as she cautiously observes new people and surroundings with an eager, gentle spirit.
When it comes to walking, Fia is a absolute dream on lead! She walks wonderfully on a loose leash, staying right close to her human, matching your pace, and checking in without any pulling or yanking. According to her previous return notes, Fia is good with cats and gets along well with calm, respectful dogs who respect her boundaries (preferring dogs that don't get right in her face).
