My Special Considerations
Poppy is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of fear and kennel distress. Poppy has a history, per his owner, that he resource guards resource such as food and high value treats. Here at the shelter, he is tense, side eyeing, and air snapping at staff. Behavior team was able to take out of the kennel and perform a resource guarding test which he passed. When it comes to handling, he is tense, side eyeing staff, and watchful. This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes. This animal needs placement by 9/20 at 3 PM.
