My Special Considerations
Amber is not adapting well to the shelter environment and exhibiting signs of extreme fear. She is very shut down in her suite, she shows loss of appetite, and is fearful of interacting with staff. While she tolerates handling, she, at times, flinches with touch, and turns her face / body away from team members to avoid interaction. She is an old lady who would enjoy a quiet peaceful place to call home, with humans who have plenty of patience and love to give while she settles in and builds her confidence. This animal would benefit from a quieter place to adjust and become more comfortable with social and environmental changes.
This animal needs placement by 9/17 at 3 PM.
Additionally, this older gal has dental disease and is not maintaining her weight here in the shelter. Bloodwork is available for review and showed elevated CK and eosinophils. She would benefit from closer monitoring of her weight/appetite, dental care, and further diagnostics if not improving. The Animal Foundation will cover the cost of a dental procedure if transferred by 9/17.
