Our Vision

At The Animal Foundation, our vision is simple: We want a future where every pet has a home, and every home is empowered to care for them.

Her experience with critical community issues ranging from education and health care to transportation and social services includes work with nonprofits Touro University Nevada, Nevada Cancer Institute and AARP Nevada, as well as more than a decade of public service with the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, McCarran International Airport (before it became Harry Reid Airport) and UNLV.  

Hilarie came to The Animal Foundation after seven years with Allegiant, where her work included leading the company’s corporate giving and social responsibility programs, managing national partnerships with mission-driven nonprofits like Make-A-Wish and the American Red Cross as well as dozens of regional and local relationships in the cities Allegiant serves. 

Beyond her professional roles, Hilarie has always been a hands-on advocate – especially when it comes to animals. Growing up in a family of devoted “pet people” in a home filled with animals, she has volunteered with shelters and rescue groups going all the way back to her high school days. As an adult she has raised three rescued Old English Sheepdogs, a cockatiel and several tortoises, and currently shares her home with her adorable dog Toffee, officially a “foster fail” adopted from TAF – and her leopard tortoise, Sonny.  She has over the years served on several nonprofit volunteer boards of directors, including three years with Nevada SPCA as part of a new board tasked with major transition following an operational crisis.
