The first stop for every animal in our care. This team is on the frontlines, welcoming thousands of animals each year — many in crisis. They provide intake assessments, emergency triage, and, when possible, the best outcome of all: a reunion with a lost owner. Our Pet Support Hotline team falls under this department, ensuring pets in the community have support before they even enter the shelter.
Animal Welfare
Our kennel attendants are more than caretakers — they’re movers and shakers of our shelter system. They ensure the right animals are in the right place at the right time, helping keep the entire shelter flowing efficiently. They notice health and behavior changes, coordinate with other departments, and make sure no animal falls through the cracks.
Behavior
Behavioral health is just as important as physical health. Our behavior team ensures every animal gets the mental and emotional support they need — especially those with longer stays. From stuffed KONGs and enrichment to training and playgroups, they provide the tools and patience that help scared or stressed animals thrive.
Veterinary Services
Behind the scenes, our veterinary team treats injuries, performs surgeries, and manages the complex medical needs of our shelter population — all with compassion and urgency. They also help the public through our low-cost vaccine clinic, keeping beloved pets healthy and at home.
Foster & Transfer
This team gives animals a soft place to land. Whether it’s a temporary foster home, a rescue partner, or a day-long Foster Field Trip, these staffers coordinate lifesaving opportunities outside the shelter’s walls. They manage a large network of foster families and rescue partners who are just as passionate about saving lives as we are.
Adoptions
The final step in an animal’s journey — and one of the most joyful. Our adoptions team is part matchmaker, part educator, and part cheerleader. They help people find the right pet for their home, guide them through the adoption process, and ensure both pets and people are set up for long-term success.
